About Community Victim Services

The Community Victim Assistance Program consists of community-based victim services to victims of domestic and sexual assault. In addition to the primary crisis center and the 24-hour crisis line, the Coalition provides services at satellite centers in Lake City, Kingstree, Marion, Darlington, Hartsville, Dillon, Bennettsville, and Chesterfield. The Community Victim Assistance Program is also responsible for the recruitment and training of volunteers, providing community education, and training to promote awareness on the issues.

  • Walk-in service

  • Crisis counseling

  • Emergency shelter for victims of family violence

  • Medical and legal advocacy accompaniment

  • Assistance finding legal or medical help and alternative housing

  • Support groups

  • Court accompaniment

  • Information and referral

  • Assistance with filing for Crime Victim’s Compensation

  • County-based satellite centers

  • Community education and awareness

  • Training for professionals

  • Prevention programs
